COMING UP ROSES: Coty’s got unusual new plans for its powerhouse Chloé fragrance: Crème de la Rose, a facial skin-care collection for the Asian market that was inspired by the fashion house’s first fragrance and its signature rose note. The four stockkeeping-unit lineup — a serum, a water lotion, an oil and a cream moisturizer — will bow in Japan in two doors in April, noted Jean Mortier, president of Coty Prestige. The collection features rose centifolia complex and is intended to impart “radiance,” noted Mortier. “This is not an ancillary play,” Mortier emphasized. “We are launching a well-researched skin-care line.” Added Françoise Mariez, senior vice president of marketing for European licenses at Coty Prestige: “This allows us to take advantage of the love for the fragrance brand in a market that is primarily driven by skin care.” The line is expected to enter additional Asian countries by year-end 2013.
