Entrepreneur and writer Rachel Botsman and Rupert Hoogewerf, chief executive officer of the Hurun Report Inc., are slated to speak at the opening forum for the upcoming edition of the International Luxury Travel Market Asia trade show in Shanghai. The forum will take place at the Ritz-Carlton on Monday, May 30.
Botsman, who teaches at Oxford University, will speak about her theory of “collaborative consumption” and recent changes in consumer behavior, organizers said. Hoogewerf will give a talk titled “Why China’s Gen Y is Driving Global Luxury.” The forum will also feature a seminar on the outlook for the luxury travel industry in 2016 and 2017, examining topics like travelers’ shopping habits and top destinations.
The ILTM Asia luxury travel trade show runs May 30 to June 2 at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre.
