COCOONING TREND: As Kering and Balenciaga employees settle into their new headquarters at the former Laennec hospital in Paris, a Cristóbal Balenciaga fashion exhibition is taking shape inside.

Twenty-seven creations by the founding couturier, dating from 1930 to 1968, are to go on display soon as Kering participates in the 33rd edition of European Heritage Days, when historically important buildings and monuments open their doors to the public. The event takes place on Sept. 17 and 18.

Among the landmark designs included in the archive showcase are Balenciaga’s cocoon coat from 1966 and his baby-doll dress from 1958.
