CUSHNIE COLLABORATES: Cushnie et Ochs has designed a series of five dresses to be sold exclusively at Forward by Elyse Walker’s Web site Based on the brand’s best-selling styles — like a white, draped silk georgette dress; a white flared cocktail dress with side cutouts, and a black full-length halter dress with shoulder cutouts — the collection will also include one of the dresses that walked down Cushnie et Och’s spring runway Friday.

Elyse Walker contends that the brand is among the retailer’s best-selling brands, with the signature cutout dresses selling out in a matter of hours or a day after hitting the site. “We noticed instantly that dresses are our number-one ready-to-wear category — [and] it wasn’t just day dresses,” Walker said. “We’ve been able to go higher with price point — but when we got sexy, our customer reacted immediately. She’s buying architectural, bold pieces, [and] if anyone is working right on trend for us — it’s the Cushnie girls.”
