GENERATION NEXT: Israeli designer Daizy Shely will be the guest designer to show at Giorgio Armani’s Armani/Teatro during the upcoming Milan Fashion Week.
Shely, who established her namesake women’s fashion label in 2009 in Milan, is to show her spring 2016 collection on Sept. 26. Shely won Vogue Italia’s “Who is on next?” talent search contest in 2014.
“My initiative aimed at supporting young designers is at the 10th edition: it’s a great milestone which confirms the efficiency of this project,” Armani said. “The future is in the hands of the new generations and I’m happy to help them in a proactive way. I hope my support could bring some luck to Daizy Shely, the designer I chose this season.”
“I’m extremely honored to present my collection on such a prestigious catwalk,” Shely said. “It’s one of the biggest opportunities of my life and I’m grateful to Giorgio Armani for giving me this chance. His support to young designers is fundamental for the future of the fashion industry.”
Previously, Armani offered his theater to designers including Andrea Pompilio, Stella Jean, Julian Zigerli, Au Jour Le Jour’s Diego Marquez and Mirko Fontana, Christian Pellizzari, Angelos Bratis, Edmund Ooi and Vivetta Ponti.
