THAT’S A WRAP: Still celebrating the 40th anniversary of her historic wrap dress, Diane von Furstenberg unveiled a new shop window at Galeries Lafayette on Wednesday night, in concert with Paris fashion week.
The display features six works of art handpicked by the designer, including a painting of Anna Wintour by Alex Katz, another one of Franca Sozzani by Julian Schnabel as well as photograph of Natalia Vodianova taken by François-Marie Banier.
“I have 30-something of Diane’s wrap dresses in my closet, including one Diane did for me especially for my first Love Ball in Moscow in 2008,” said the model, who turned out for the inaugural cocktail.
Von Furstenberg, whose image embellished by Takashi Murakami is also part of the artsy exhibit, said she could not remember how many times she posed for an artist, but said her favorite was the cover of Interview Magazine that she shot when she was 30 years old.
“I left my hair wet, so it was curly, and I looked at it and said: ‘Ah, it’s OK to leave it like this,’” she mused.
