ART FOR A CAUSE: Artist Donald Robertson is auctioning a clutch of his latest illustrations to raise funds for those who suffered in the Nepal earthquake last month. Robertson is selling the five original illustrations that he did for a project with London’s Floral Street in Covent Garden, to relaunch the street as an upscale women’s wear destination. The painterly illustrations spotlight women wearing or carrying flowers and currently appear on hoardings on the street, ahead of its relaunch in 2017. Capco, the landowner for the majority of Covent Garden, is auctioning the original illustrations via the Instagram account @CoventGardenLDN and the funds from the sale will go toward the Disasters Emergency Committee’s Nepal appeal. The reserve price for each of the five images is 2,000 pounds, or around $3,000, and prospective buyers can make a bid by commenting on the Covent Garden Instagram account. The bidding will close May 8 at midday BST.
