With his newest project, Donald Drawbertson — also known as Donald Robertson, a creative director for Estée Lauder — is making it clear he thinks the fashion world is nuts. Literally.

Fashion is Nuts, the title of his new project, features fashion notables, including Karl Lagerfeld and Anna Wintour, rendered in walnuts adorned with paint and duct tape. Water NYC and Robinson will launch the project Wednesday online, at http://www.fashionisnuts. Fashion Is Nuts includes a $40 limited edition 40-page book with a print run of 1,000 copies. Photographer Henry Leutwyler shot the nuts, while design firm Water NYC produced it. Robertson will sign 100 copies of the book; the autograph adds $60 to the base price of the book.

In addition, 1,000 $150 24” by 35” posters of solo nuts —Grace Coddington, Karl Lagerfeld, A$AP Rocky, Kanye West, Hedi Slimane, Yves Saint Laurent, Gabrielle Chanel, Pharrell Williams, and Riccardo Tisci — will retail for $60.

Robertsn will sign copies at Manhattan’s Dashwood Books on Wednesday, and a launch event at the Standard Shop – Highline takes place on Feb. 18. During Paris Fashion Week, Colette will release zines and an edition of prints by Henry Leutwyler on March 2nd.

Robertson launched his Drawbertson persona onto Instagram in 2013, where he now has more than 116,000 followers. This exposure lead to artwork partnerships with J. Crew, Smashbox Cosmetics, and Colette.

“In a world ruled by focus groups and ten-person creative committees, it gives me enormous pleasure to see an insane idea wheat-pasted all over New York City,” said Robertson.
