JULIAN’S GIG: To celebrate its 80th anniversary, Doncaster, a direct seller of men’s shirts and women’s shirt-dresses, has tapped Alexander Julian to design a new collection of shirts under the Pell & Co. label. The collection is named after Pell Tanner, head of the family-owned North Carolina business, and grandson of the founders. The shirts, which will retail for $125 to $225, will be sold on the company’s Web site and through its network of salespeople. Amy Riordan, director of creative marketing for Doncaster, said the company is hoping to collaborate with other designers in the future.
