DRIES ENCORE: Hot on the heels of his successful retrospective at Paris’ Les Arts Décoratifs, which was prolonged two months to Nov. 2, Dries Van Noten will have another exhibition, in his native Belgium, starting in February.

The designer, speaking Friday at a cocktail party hosted at Les Arts Décoratifs, said the show will be based on the same concept, a grouping of artworks and other objects that have enriched his creations.

“But we will borrow other works from Belgian, Dutch and French collections,” he said. “We will have to rethink the exhibit, which is good. It will make it worth visiting the Antwerp show, as well.”

Pamela Golbin, chief curator of fashion and textiles at Les Arts Décoratifs, said she is off to Australia in October to curate an exhibit on fashion icons. “It will be especially for the Adelaide museum,” she said.

Also traveling, this time to Bard in New York, is part of “The Mechanics of Underwear” that was in Paris last year, added Golbin.

Meanwhile, Radiohead bass player Colin Greenwood, who took a front-row seat at Van Noten’s show on Thursday, Catherine Baba and a flurry of male models were also among attendees at the museum event.

German model Paul Boche, a regular on the label’s catwalks who was sporting a Rag & Bone suit, Dries Van Noten T-shirt and New Balance sneakers, enthused about working with the designer. “You feel you work with an artist,” he said. “I feel proud every single time.”

For her part, Baba has recently worked as a consultant on costumes for an upcoming biopic on French actress Arletty, starring Laetitia Casta. “Arletty was a model for Poiret in her youth,” Baba — a Forties fashion fan — explained. “A lot of shoulder pads! Women were very chic under the Occupation. It was their way of standing up.”
