ICE IN THEIR VEINS: Milan-based Canadian twins Dean and Dan Caten know a thing or two about cold and snow — and how to work an oversize trapper hat.
They’ve now plowed their cold-weather know-how into their first Dsquared2 ski collection, slated to launch this fall and produced by Staff International. The first deliveries are slated to begin at the end of October to Dsquared2 boutiques in locations including St. Moritz, Switzerland; Gstaad; Milan; London; Paris; Rome; New York, and Los Angeles.
The range for men and women spans designs for skiing, snowboard and chalet lounging. Sometimes sleek — sometimes cheeky — looks incorporate Canadian tinges including lumberjack checks, beefy parkas and knits and braces printed with maple leaf designs.
Innovations include stretch denim with a waterproof interior, available in faded, acid-washed and patchwork variations for ski pants and vests.
