LADY IN RED: The Duchess of Cambridge joined the royal family to welcome China’s President Xi Jinping and his wife Madame Peng Liyuan in Buckingham Palace Tuesday evening.
Held in Buckingham Palace’s ballroom, this is the first state banquet for the Duchess of Cambridge and included more than 170 guests.
The duchess donned a red bespoke Jenny Packham gown with Queen Elizabeth’s Papyrus Tiara. This is the third time the young royal has worn a tiara. Prior to the dinner she wore a diamond crown to a diplomatic reception in 2013 then wore a Cartier Halo tiara to her wedding in 2011.
The following day, she stepped out wearing a plum lace dress by Dolce & Gabbana as she joined President Xi and Madam Peng Liyuan on a visit to Lancaster House.
