IT’S SHOE-TIME: “Our shoes are famous for being comfortable so we wanted to make a point that even the boys can wear them,” reasoned Edgardo Osorio of Aquazzura, explaining the male models standing on the entry steps of the Hotel Le Marois for his first Paris event.
“It’s all about fun — it’s a Pop Jungle!” Osorio chirped.
Along with the men-in-heels display, the designer brought a zoo of taxidermied animals, such as a giraffe, tiger and a zebra with a parrot perched on its back, which made for an insta-carpet moment for guests.
Along with Ciara, a gaggle of New York girls — Leigh Lezark, Hannah Bronfman and Harley Viera-Newton — were among the Aquazzura-clad socials dancing to DJ Cecile Togni’s soundtrack. Performing a tasteful burlesque-style number while wearing the shoes was the Paris Opera’s newly retired prima ballerina Isabelle Ciaravola, whom Osorio proclaimed has “the best legs, by the way.”
