FRENCH FLAIR: Edit is preparing to give French labels some good play.
The fifth edition of the New York-based trade show that’s slated to run Feb. 22 to 24 at Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, is ready to inaugurate a new section, called “So…Paris.”
The brainchild of trade show veteran Sophie Guyot (who’s also behind the creation of Fame, an area inside Paris’ Who’s Next fair in 2002), “So…Paris” will showcase 16 French brands, including Margareth & Moi, FC Farrington, Stella Forest, Maison Vaincourt, Laurence Heller, Pellessimo, Giorgio & Mario, Bella Jones and Knitss.
In addition, the area will display four outfits by André Courrèges, owned by collector and retailer Didier Ludot. The looks of the French designer who passed away earlier this year will be for sale at the fair.
The BJI Fashion Group-owned fair, whose inaugural edition was in February 2014, focuses on the premium women’s wear market. The February edition will count around 100 exhibitors. Admission to Edit is by invitation only.
