FAMILY TIES: Ella Marciano, the 17-year-old daughter of Guess chief executive officer and vice chairman Paul Marciano, is testing the waters at the family business. Starting Thursday, a beaded cord bracelet designed by the high school senior to benefit Save the Children will debut in Guess stores and online. Using red and black, signature colors of both Guess and the charity, the younger Marciano incorporated a red crystal and enamel bead framed by two polished hematite beads and a Guess gold triangle into The One Love Bracelet, from which $20 of every $30 item sold will benefit children in East Africa in need of food and water.

Last year she created a T-shirt to benefit a battered women’s shelter, but this year, “I wanted to go more global and create something everyone could wear,” said Marciano.

As for whether she sees designing as a future career, she said, “I realized while interning [at Teen Vogue] that I really love the beauty aspect of the fashion industry, and a beauty line [at Guess] is something we’ve talked about. So we’ll see, but I am going to college first.”
