Uniqlo parent Fast Retailing and Seven & i Holdings are planning a business partnership that could result in a new clothing brand; the ability for Uniqlo customers to pick up their orders from a 7-Eleven convenience stores in Japan; and shared logistics and distribution efforts. A spokesman for Fast Retailing confirmed a local press report that the two Japanese companies are in talks, but still in “very early stages,” and therefore specifics have not yet been decided. Seven & i has been upping its fashion game recently. Earlier this year it announced it had tapped Jean Paul Gaultier to design a capsule collection for the retailer’s Sogo, Seibu and Ito Yokado this coming fall. Shoppers will also be able to order the collection online and pick up the goods at 7-Elevens in Japan.
