FEIT’S FILM: Feit wants to make its mark on New York Fashion Week: Men’s, which takes place starting today through Feb. 4.
The New York-based luxury footwear brand will forgo a static presentation and instead showcase a film, “Man vs. Machine” at the New Museum on Feb. 3.
The film, which was directed by artist and filmmaker Jack Riccobono, is a collaboration with Benjamin Millepied, director of the Paris Opera, composer Nicholas Britell, and installation artist Jordana Maisie.
It contrasts mass production imagery from the 1982 movie “Koyaanisqatsi,” against Feit’s handmade process.
“We wanted to create the arc of a battle between these two modes of creation so that you feel the tension between the rote repetition of the industrial process versus the skill, beauty and attention to detail in Feit’s handcrafted approach,” Riccobono said.
The film will play alongside live hand-sewers and Feit’s fall 2016 collection.
