CINEMATIC: Salvatore Ferragamo Parfums is strengthening its ties to the world of cinema as the main sponsor of French film festival France Odeon once again. The Florence-based event will run from Oct. 29 to Nov. 1 and screen French films in the historic hall of the Odeon cinema on Palazzo Strozzi.
The festival will also bestow the award “L’essenza del Talento” (The essence of Talent), a jeweled bottle of Ferragamo’s Signorina fragrance, which is embellished with an 18-karat gold plate and was created exclusively for the occasion. This year’s recipient will be French-Argentinian actress Bérénice Bejo, who was nominated for an Academy Award as best actress in the film “The Artist.”
The Florentine footwear brand has a long history of providing shoes for movies, such as Alan Parker’s “Evita” from 1996 and Baz Luhrmann’s “Australia” from 2008. Most recently, Cate Blanchett wore Ferragamo footwear on screen in Disney’s “Cinderella.”
