SHOOT FOR THE STARS: Superstar honoree Riccardo Tisci will be the guest of honor Oct. 27 at the Fashion Group International’s Night of Stars, but there will be star power throughout the crowd at Cipriani Wall Street.
Andrew Bolton, curator in charge at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, will receive this year’s Lord & Taylor Fashion Oracle Award from Baz Luhrmann and Catherine Martin. American model Hailey Baldwin will present Tommy and Dee Hilfiger with this year’s Humanitarian Award.
Fashion Star honorees Tory Burch and Erdem Moralioglu will be saluted by W magazine’s Stefano Tonchi and British actress Ruth Wilson, respectively. Levi Strauss’ James Curleigh will be given the Brand Heritage award from Paper magazine’s Kim Hastreiter, Pamela Baxter will be presented with Beauty award from Dayle Haddon and Interior Design honoree Bunny Williams will accept the Interior Design award from Architectural Digest’s Amy Astley. The Real Real’s Julie Wainwright will accept the Innovation in Retail E-commerce award from Amy Fine Collins.
Auteur of Style winner Iris Apfel will receive her honor from Margaret Russell. At 95, Apfel is enterprising as ever, having recently launched a new jewelry line “Peculiar,” and appeared in ads for Happy Sox. Another model, in the more traditional sense of the job description, Pat Cleveland is counting on her designer friend Stephen Burrows to present her with the Fashion Provocateur award. FGI’s president and chief executive officer Margaret Hayes has once again recruited Simon Doonan as the event’s master of ceremonies for the seated dinner.
A few presenters have not yet been revealed such as those for Tisci; Media winner Joe Zee, Yahoo Style’s editor in chief and a host of ABC’s daytime talk show “FABLife,” and H&M’s president of North America Daniel Kulle, who will be picking up the Sustainability award for the company.
