HONOR ROLL: French luxury titan François Pinault was made a Grand Officer of the Legion of Honor, France’s highest civilian decoration, on New Year’s Day. Previous recipients of the distinction include Bernard Arnault, chairman and chief executive officer of French luxury group LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton. Designer Jean-Claude Jitrois and Elisabeth Ponsolle des Portes, president of French luxury goods association Comité Colbert, were declared Officers of the Legion of Honor. Among those made a Knight of the Legion of Honor in the annual list were: Mexican actress Salma Hayek-Pinault; Christian Courtin-Clarins, chairman of Groupe Clarins; Marianne Romestain, president of Gérard Darel; Nathalie Tribouillard-Chassaing, managing director of Leonard; Philippe Louvet, international human resources director of L’Oréal Research and Innovation, and designer Philippe Venet.
