FRED LEIGHTON LOGS IN: Fred Leighton is hitting the Web. The jewelry house has teamed with Net-A-Porter, marking the company’s foray into e-commerce. “It’s something we have considered for the last several years, but we really wanted to find the right partner,” said ceo Greg Kwiat. “Fred Leighton provides a very tailored experience. Net-A-Porter was the perfect match because that is exactly the approach they take with their clients.” The partnership, which goes live today, will include an assortment of pieces ranging from one-of-a-kind estate jewelry to Fred Leighton signature creations. The selection will be rotated several times a year. According to Kwiat, this is just the first step in the brand’s online push. “We are definitely going to be launching a creative e-commerce platform later in the year,” he said. “It won’t be strictly a shoppable catalogue — it will be a little more focused. Hopefully we will have something exciting to announce in the second quarter.”
