FROM PRADA TO LALA: A year after Randy Kabat left her post as executive vice president of marketing and advertising at Prada USA Corp., where she worked in various capacities for 13 years, she’s landed at Rue La La as senior vice president of brand partner marketing. She took the interim to “recharge and refresh and think about what was next professionally,” said Kabat, who is reporting to chief merchandising officer Ira Melnitsky in Rue La La’s New York office. Founded in 2008, Rue La La is a members-only flash sale site along the lines of Gilt and Ideeli. “When I was looking at the landscape and where the action is really happening and where the innovators are in retail — and changing the way people think about shopping — it’s all happening in this digital space and the flash sale space,” said Kabat.
