ROCKY ROAD: A$AP Rocky was all smiles as he arrived at the J.W. Anderson show on Sunday morning in London — the first leg of a long shift that was slated to end in the wee hours: He was to cohost the brand’s after party in the basement of the Ace Hotel in Shoreditch.
“It’s gonna be lit,” he promised.
The event was also to mark his collaboration with designer Jonathan Anderson on an eight-piece capsule range already selling on the designer’s web site. It includes faux-fur jackets, track pants and black beanies emblazoned with a bespoke JWA x AWGE logo.
“I felt like a fan since I’ve started working with him — even before, obviously, because I used to go to Opening Ceremony,” he said of Anderson. “I thought it was pretty amazing that he gave us so much free space just to do what we want…He was like ‘Yo man, go ahead and have fun.’ With him it’s genuine and the respect and admiration is mutual.”
The rapper plans to attend the Dior Homme show in Paris. He recently starred in the campaign shot by Willy Vanderperre.
Known for his song “Fashion Killa,” which was featured in “Zoolander 2” — where the rapper also made a cameo — the artist has attended men’s fashion shows including Dior, Raf Simons and Moschino.
