DESIGNER DILEMMA: Abbey Clancy, the Liverpudlian runway model and one-time winner of BBC TV series “Strictly Come Dancing,” is also making a name as a clothing designer.
Clancy, who was sitting front row at Julien Macdonald’s show, is coming out with her second collection for Matalan, the British mass-market retailer owned by the Hargreaves family (Jamey Hargreaves is a backer of Macdonald’s brand).
“It’s Liverpool born-and-bred,” she said of the collection, which is in its second season. “Winter is so much easier to design, but the problem is I’m so used to dressing for myself I have to learn that some women have bigger boobs and need to wear a bra, and others don’t like their arms showing. So I’ve put a bit in there for everyone.”
