Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach, the Filipino beauty queen who was awarded the crown after Steve Harvey mistakenly announced the winner was Miss Colombia, was a front-row guest at the Naeem Khan show Wednesday. Dressed in Khan’s jumpsuit, Wurtzbach said she’s been on a whirlwind, having just returned from a trip to Indonesia and Malaysia, and the Super Bowl in San Francisco and now New York Fashion Week.
“It’s something to be appreciated and to be seen up close. I really appreciate the thought and hard work they put into clothes,” said Wurtzbach.
Also sitting in the front row was Willow Shields, the 15-year-old star of the “Hunger Games” movies, where she plays Primrose Everdeen. Shields said she’s been to several shows during fashion week, including Christian Siriano and Jill Stuart. She said she has a few of Khan’s things and wore his gown to the premiere of one of the “Hunger Games: Mockingjay” movies.
She recently wrapped up “The Wonder,” where she played the lead, Rachel, and spent three months in China and New Zealand. The movie is about a group of school kids who follow a rainbow that magically transports them to China and they have a lot of “crazy experiences.”
At the end of Khan’s show, the designer took his bow with 11-year-old Trinity Faith Moran, who has cancer. It was her wish to walk down the runway as part of the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Dressed in a bright red gown, she and Khan waved to the cameras when they reached the end of the runway.
