HIDDEN TALENTS: Paris department store Galeries Lafayette will celebrate fashion’s behind-the-scenes talent with a series of pop-up stores, workshops and exhibitions to run from April 4 to 30. The “Made in Mode” festival will be heralded by an advertising campaign featuring designer Jean Paul Gaultier shot by Jean-Paul Goude. Window displays will spotlight editors and designers at work, photographed by Max Farrago. Shoppers will also be able to have their portrait taken in temporary studios set by up Guerlain, or have their digital images retouched courtesy of interior design brand Emde. On the sixth floor of the store, designers, stylists, jewelers and bootmakers will display their techniques. Lafayette Gourmet, meanwhile, will feature demonstrations in butter churning and how to make fresh pasta, among other skills.
