CHILD’S PLAY: Jean Paul Gaultier is back on the catwalk.
The French designer may have staged his swansong women’s ready-to-wear collection last September, but his children’s designs will take a starring role at a charity fashion show in Paris on Wednesday night.
The event, billed “Les Enfants Terribles,” is to benefit the ARCAD Foundation, dedicated to fighting digestive cancers. The catwalk show at the Refectoire des Cordeliers will feature 38 outfits created by students at fashion school ESMOD alongside Junior Gaultier designs, the organizers of the event said.
This will be followed by an auction, with lots including a striped Armor Lux top customized by Gaultier’s workshop; a book signed by the designer; Junior Gaultier clothes donated by Zannier Group, which holds the Gaultier children’s wear license, and Bensimon sneakers specially designed for the occasion.
Gaultier is set to unveil his spring-summer couture collection on Jan. 28.
