WEDDING BELLS: Is George Clooney married? Yes, according to wire reports that said the actor tied the knot with Amal Alamuddin on Saturday evening in Venice during a private symbolic ceremony with about 200 guests. The official wedding is still said to legally take place on Monday morning, as reported, and to be officiated by Clooney’s friend and former mayor of Rome, Walter Veltroni. Images of Clooney arriving on Saturday for a party — or his wedding — at Palazzo Papadopoli, where the seven-star Hotel Aman is housed, together with a number of his guests, including Rande Gerber and wife Cindy Crawford, and Matt Damon and Bono, have surfaced, but none of Alamuddin.

For what very well may have been the black-tie rehearsal dinner Friday night, the bride wore a red-and-black Alexander McQueen gown that revealed her toned legs. Interestingly, the dress, albeit a more conservative version, was reminiscent of the one First Lady Michelle Obama wore to a 2011 state dinner for China’s former President Hu Jintao at the White House. At that time, FLOTUS was criticized for choosing a British designer. Oscar de la Renta, who is believed to be the designer of her gown, was among the influencers who spoke out.

While the de la Renta and Clooney camps were zipped up over the weekend about any details related to the Venice wedding, Naeem Khan spread the news Saturday night that he had dressed Emily Blunt for the rehearsal dinner and Damon’s wife Luciana Barrosa for what the company described as Clooney’s wedding. Barrosa opted for a Roberto Cavalli dress for the rehearsal dinner. Blunt, who learned her labels inside out shooting “The Devil Wears Prada,” went with a Pucci dress, Lorraine Schwartz jewels and Jimmy Choo clutch and shoes for Saturday’s bash.

And when Alamuddin and Clooney do say “Arrivederci” to Venice, she will have a Stella McCartney ensemble in her stash of getaway clothes. McCartney’s team declined to comment about Alamuddin being spotted with a garment bag stamped with the London-based designer’s name. But a source said McCartney designed one of the outfits for her post-wedding travels.
