The boots she wears in the campaigns — Weitzman’s “Clinger” style — are exhibited in a new satin fabrication.
Hadid first signed on as a face of Stuart Weitzman for spring 2016, appearing in advertisements alongside Joan Smalls and Lily Aldridge. The trio had replaced longtime Stuart Weitzman spokesmodel Gisele Bündchen.
She broke out on her own for fall 2016, when Hadid appeared in ads reminiscent of her boxing workout routine.
In October, it was revealed that Hadid had designed a pair of shoes for the Weitzman brand, aptly named the Gigi boot. The style retailed from $565 to $595.
“This experience has been such a thrill, from choosing the style to selecting materials to creating the signature box. I am so excited to finally share these boots and be able to wear them myself,” Hadid said.
In signing Hadid as a design collaborator, Stuart Weitzman pledged to donate money to Pencils of Promise — enough to build three schools, one each in Ghana, Guatemala and Laos.
“I couldn’t have asked for a better way to further my partnership with Stuart Weitzman than to get creative, and I am so happy to know the boots I designed will be helping kids through the nonprofit organization, Pencils of Promise. I’m truly proud of this collaboration from all angles,” Hadid said at the time of the charitable tie-in.
In the meantime, Hadid has kept busy — walking in this month’s Victoria’s Secret show.
Weitzman, too, has been on the fast track. The brand is readying the opening of a new Fifth Avenue flagship, beside the new Coach House.
