Gildo Zegna at the Leonardo Awards

PRIZE GIVING: Gildo Zegna, chief executive officer of the Ermenegildo Zegna Group, received the Leonardo Prize during a ceremony held Monday in Rome at the Quirinal Palace, the official residence of Italian President Sergio Mattarella.

Established by the Leonardo Committee, which was founded in 1993 as a join venture of Confindustria and the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade, the prizes honor industry leaders who promote a positive image of Made in Italy products around the world.

Along with Zegna, the Leonardo committee handed prizes to Ahmad Pourfallah, president of the Italy-Iran chamber of commerce, and honored Italian companies including the beverage giant Campari, the glass manufacturer FIAM, pasta specialist Pastifico Rana and IMA, a world leader in the design and manufacture of automatic machines for the processing and packaging of pharmaceutical products.
