MILAN — Giorgio Armani has been honored with the Collare d’oro al merito sportivo [golden collar of sports] in recognition of his contributions to the world of sports by the Italian National Olympic Committee CONI.
The ceremony took place Tuesday in Rome at the sports complex Foro Italico. In attendance were Prime Minister Matteo Renzi; Giovanni Malagò, president of the Italian National Olympic Committee CONI, and Luca Pancalli, president of the Italian Paralympic Committee.
Throughout his career, Armani has been a supporter of the Italian national team. Most recently he renewed his partnership with the Italian National Olympic and Paralympic Committees to dress the athletes at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
