BLOCK PARTIES: The space in Herve Leger’s newly minted boutique in London’s Knightsbridge was as tight as one of the label’s bandage dresses on Thursday night as glam guests squeezed in to fete the opening. “I’ve been a fan since back in the day,” said footwear designer Beatrix Ong.
“I think they make you feel quite sexy,” added Malin Jefferies, who was showing off her slinky post-pregnancy figure in a blue Leger number. Meanwhile, Victoria Hervey caused some consternation among party staff by apparently puffing on a cigarette. However, she revealed the device is in fact a smoke-free cigarette she’s planning to launch. “I was smoking it on Virgin Atlantic,” Hervey said proudly. “All the air hostesses wanted one.”
The previous night, Goyard unveiled its first London store on Mount Street, in a decidedly low-key affair. “People are coming in and saying it feels like we’ve been here forever,” marveled Frederic Grangie, Goyard’s managing director.
