GRAPE EXPECTATIONS: Perfect weather? It’s a phrase rarely heard in an era of climate change. Yet for grapes, 2004 was as good as it gets. So says Richard Geoffroy, Dom Pérignon’s chef de cave, who on Tuesday unveiled the Champagne brand’s latest vintage at the Abbey of Saint-Pierre d’Hautvillers in northeast France.

U.S. media personalities Dan Abrams, Christopher Cuomo and Cristina Greeven Cuomo were among VIPS who turned up to taste the complex wine in transparent isolation tents with views of the vineyards. The evening climaxed with a six-course dinner as videos were projected onto the abbey’s façade.
