Gucci opted to spread awareness over fashion Tuesday night by hosting an evening honoring Nobel Peace Prize-winning humanitarian Dr. James Orbinski of Dignitas International.

Held at the Brentwood home of Windsor Smith, the evening brought together an eclectic crowd including “American Idol” producer Nigel Lythgoe, My Space co-founder and former chief executive Chris DeWolfe, philanthropist Dana Davis and actress Camilla Belle. “I saw a documentary about Dr. Orbinski, and I wanted to come meet him,” she said.

After Orbinski’s presentation, guests lingered to learn more about Dignitas’ community-based HIV centers in Malawi, which help treat and prevent the virus.
