HERMES THEFT: Opportunity made a thief on Wednesday in Milan’s luxurious Via Gastone Pisoni, when two drivers parked their van full of Hermès merchandise outside the brand’s offices and decided to take a coffee break, leaving the vehicle unattended. The drivers, tired from their long drive from Paris, were away just long enough for a crook to break open the back of the van and run off with the latest collection.
A spokeswoman for Milan’s police department confirmed Wednesday morning that the thief — an Italian man — had been apprehended in under 24 hours, and his loot had been confiscated.
A spokeswoman for Hermès said the company was not commenting on the incident.
