HORSE SENSE: A sprawling Hermès party in Paris on Thursday titled “Feminine Movement” put women through their paces: They danced in groups, posed for sketch artists, acted out scenes atop dinner tables and jumped rope, Double Dutch style.


The vignettes served as a quirky way to showcase the French brand’s vast product universe for women. For example, the dancers wore swimsuits — or handbags slung cross body — while some of the skippers jumped, improbably, in platform sandals.


Sipping Champagne and sampling gourmet food from small plates, clients and editors wandered through a series of dark rooms laid out at the École Militaire, which also houses an equestrian school. The evening climaxed with a fashion show — more women in motion — and a dance party.
