RUN ON FASHION: Stampede season is coming to Calgary and Holt Renfrew is leading the charge. The Canadian retailer is planning on June 25 to host a fashion show and celebrity charity auction to benefit the Calgary Health Trust. Holt Renfrew Calgary event will include a presentation of stampede fashions, along with a live auction of one-of-a-kind cowboy hats created by designers such as Anzie, Dean Davidson, Ela, Mackage, Paige, Smythe and Tanya Taylor. The retailer has rounded up a group of models that includes Ann McCaig, board chair of Calgary Health Trust, Julia Dunstall, a Calgary-born model, W. Brett Wilson, chairman of Prairie Merchant Corporate, Kelley McKinlay and Reilly Bell, Alberta Ballet company dancers, Bret Hart, a professional WWE/WWF wrestler and Matt Masters, a country singer and songwriter. A number of well-known Canadians and Calgary natives posed for portraits and acted as “muses” to help promote the program. Laureen Harper, the wife of Canada’s Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, was photographed wearing an Ela hat. Also kicking up their boots will be Gilmore Junio, an Olympic athlete, Ken King, president and ceo of the Calgary Flames hockey club and Heather Marks, a Calgary-born model, who put on hats for the cause.
