HOME WORK: Madeline Weinrib, known for her handcrafted home items, particularly her ikat fabrics, is weaving her way into shoes via a collaboration with Manolo Blahnik. Its U.S. president, George Malkemus, recently visited the designer in her studio to go through samples and swatches, and the company decided to use Weinrib’s fabrics for four shoe styles — a pump, wedge, smoking shoe and sandal.
“I’ve been following Madeline’s work for a long time and I’m a big fan of her exquisite fabrics,” Malkemus said.

The shoes, priced from $595 for an ikat fabric sandal to $775 for a wedge made with Weinrib’s Ivy block-print fabric, are exclusive to the U.S. market and a selection of them will be available at Manolo Blahnik in New York and select Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and Barneys New York locations. “They beautifully translated my fabrics into shoes that feel incredibly fresh and new,” Weinrib said. “They’ve given me a great excuse to add to my Manolo Blahnik collection.”
