HOPE HE’S HAPPY: Pharrell Williams has a busy Saturday ahead of him. Italian innerwear company Intimissimi has secured Williams for a performance at the brand’s event at Italy’s Verona amphitheater that day. Intimissimi On Ice Operapop will open with Williams, who will be joined by Canadian singer Kiesza. The event links music, ice skating — with Olympic figure skater Carolina Kostner among the performers — and fashion into a new entertainment experience, joining pop music, opera and classical figure skating with special lighting effect and projections. Costumes were designed by artist and photographer Ali Mahdavi, who is also the artistic director of Crazy Horse. Mahdavi was inspired by the brand’s fall 2014 collection and created sensual couture designs to be worn with Intimissimi’s lingerie. Intimissimi is controlled by Sandro Veronesi’s Calzedonia SpA.
Ahead of the evening event, that afternoon in Milan, Williams is expected at the book launch and exhibition of “Palm Angels” on the Los Angeles skateboarding scene, which was done by Moncler art director Francesco Ragazzi. Williams, who is known to the skate community as Skateboard P, penned the introduction.
