PARIS — “Lost in Paris,” an exhibition centering on design and tourism in the Ile-de-France region, includes fragrances made by International Flavors & Fragrances perfumers.

The IFF perfumers worked with four recent graduates and two fourth-year students from the École National Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, who were given the task of creating an olfactory memory of a location outside Paris.

The exhibit’s other works on display include a newfangled satchel for carrying a baguette, a tandem rendition of Paris’ Vélib’ city bicycles and videos of the Place Vendôme as imagined through the eyes of various animals, such as a cat and a falcon.

Some of the projects will be placed around Paris and its environs, such as chairs coming in pairs by Maurizio Galante and Tal Lancman — the exhibit’s curators and designers — and a photo booth resembling a rickshaw.

“Lost in Paris” runs through Jan. 11, 2014, at Le Lieu du Design at 74 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine in Paris’ 12th arrondissement. It helped kick off Paris Design Week, which runs through Sept. 15.
