Iris Apfel

APFEL PICKERS?: Could Iris Apfel soon find her name on tableware, or crystal jewelry? Rumor has it New York’s doyenne of eccentric style held talks with porcelain manufacturer Bernardaud about a possible collaboration while she was in Paris for fashion week earlier this month.

The 94-year-old style maven is said to be on Swarovski’s radar, too. Nadja Swarovski, executive board member, turned out for the opening of Apfel’s exhibition at Le Bon Marché, and Apfel attended a lunch cohosted by the Austrian crystal maker and the United Nations Foundation at the U.S. ambassador’s residence.

Apfel is already brand ambassador for carmaker Citroën’s DS and the newly tapped face of the initial collection of wearable tech jewelry WiseWear. She is also developing her own line of wearable tech jewelry in partnership with WiseWear, which is expected to be out in time for the holiday season. Her other upcoming collaborations include a silver and wood jewelry collection for Mexican house Tane and a capsule for Happy Socks.
