President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama greeted Italy’s Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and his wife Agnese Landini on the South Lawn of the White House on Tuesday morning ahead of a state dinner later tonight.

The dinner, which will likely be the last of the Obama White House, promises to be a fashion showcase. Giorgio Armani will be part of the Italian delegation attending the soirée and all eyes will be on the two first ladies as they make their way up the North Portico of the White House. They did not disappoint in the opening ceremony this morning.

Michelle Obama wore a sleeveless black and white abstract chevron print dress and Landini was in a forest-green Valentino lace dress. She wore a rose-colored Valentino dress when she arrived in Washington on Monday.

Obama and Landini will tour the White House Kitchen Garden later this morning. Produce from the garden, planted by the First Lady in 2009, has been served on White House china plates at State Dinners and has also been promoted as a symbol for healthy eating. It inspired Obama to launch the “Let’s Move” initiative to promote healthy living for a young generation of children.
