Jeanne Lanvin’s compact Art Deco gem of an office, tucked away on the third floor of Lanvin’s headquarters, will be open to the public for the first time as part of European Heritage Days this weekend, when scores of buildings and monuments participate. The late couturier stuffed it with books about decorating, costume history, botany and travel – and scores of rare fabric swatches – which fed inspirations for her designs. Six original dresses from the Twenties have been installed in the vestibule for the 100 happy few who will vie for guided visits.
