JFK’S NEW PEN: John F. Kennedy is the inspiration for Montblanc’s newest edition of its Great Characters Collection. The initiative started in 2009 and has used Leonardo da Vinci, Albert Einstein and Mahatma Gandhi in prior years. There will be three special JFK pens, each of which commemorate a key moment in Kennedy’s life. Montblanc is creating just nine JFK Atelier Privé pens, which will retail for $76,174, in three sets of three.

Among the personal details on the pens are his initials, which are engraved on the clips, and his motto, “A time for greatness,” which is engraved on the cap rings. Several of the details also speak to his service in the Navy during World War II.

The collection, which was created with the cooperation of the Kennedy family, will be offered for sale beginning this month in Montblanc boutiques around the world.
