POSHMARK ADDS TO TEAM: Former eBay and Ning/Glam Media executive John McDonald has joined Poshmark as vice president of marketplace operations where he will work on scaling the user experience of both buyer and seller.

Poshmark is a mobile fashion marketplace that enables community members to shop and sell fashion from their phones.

According to McDonald, users on the platform typically visit the app between 7 to 8 times a day, or about 20 to 25 minutes in total each day. McDonald said he will draw on his learnings from his eBay and Ning/Glam Media positions on how to maintain a consistent customer experience as the Poshmark site scales up. Some of his past initiatives include educating sellers and providing strong incentives such as fee discounts for good performance and badging the sites that have good service. On the buyer side, enhancing the customer experience includes authentication, improving checkout flows and providing buyer guarantees and protection services, McDonald said.
