EYES ON THE PRIZE: The British Fashion Council has released the shortlist for its annual awards ceremony, which will take place at the London Coliseum on Dec. 1.
Christopher Kane, Erdem, and J.W. Anderson are competing in the women’s wear designer category, while Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney and Victoria Beckham have been shortlisted in the brand one.
The international designer candidates are Hedi Slimane for Saint Laurent, Nicolas Ghesquière for Louis Vuitton, and Raf Simons.
Anya Hindmarch, Charlotte Olympia and Nicholas Kirkwood are competing for accessories designer, while Christopher Bailey for Burberry, J.W. Anderson, Paul Smith and Tom Ford are in the lineup for men’s wear designer.
Thomas Tait and Marques’ Almeida are the only two labels in the emerging women’s wear category, while Astrid Andersen, Craig Green and Lee Roach are competing for the emerging men’s wear prize.
Lanvin, Louis Vuitton and Vivienne Westwood have all been shortlisted for creative campaign, a new category.
Other awards on the night include the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator, which recognizes a photographer or backstage talent, and the BFC Outstanding Achievement award, for someone whose work has had an impact on global fashion.
The awards are being held with support from Swarovski, and will be hosted by the British comedian, actor, author and television presenter, Jack Whitehall.
