SWEET YEEZUS: Kanye West left hundreds of showgoers waiting for over an hour in the blistering sun for his Yeezy Season 4 show on Roosevelt Island this afternoon. Editors from The New York Times, Harper’s Bazaar and New York Magazine were pushed, shoved and yelled at by security while trying to enter the show.
Those who arrived on the Yeezy bus from 26th Street were trapped in an hour’s worth of traffic and as of 3:50 p.m., still hadn’t entered the show, which was slated for 3 p.m.
A cotillion of celebs — including Russell Westbrook, Lala Anthony and Jonathan Cheban – had no problem with the line. Their cars drove up in a neat little row to the front gate and let them right in. A car full of Vogue editors received the same royal treatment.
Too soon to tell if a room of hot and clammy editors are capable of positive reviews for West.
But Kanye was turning the wait time into a commercial opportunity — he was selling T-shirts for $75, and there were plenty of takers.
