BRAND EXTENSIONS: Karen Kane, the Los Angeles-based sportswear company, is looking to expand its repetoire. It has tapped IMG Worldwide, the global sports, fashion and media company, to represent the apparel company in developing a line of licensed products such as handbags, eyewear, jewelry, footwear and other accessories in the U.S. and Canada.

“We’re extremely excited about our new partnership with IMG. I have no doubt that they will help us continue to develop the ‘Karen Kane lifestyle’ and find success with a variety of new brand extensions,” said Michael Kane, director of marketing. The company, which was founded in 1979 by Kane’s parents, Karen and Lonnie, manufactures domestically and sells its apparel in the better sportswear departments of Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, Belk, Dillard’s and specialty stores nationwide, as well as
