IN THE PINK: Karl Lagerfeld has a good excuse for skipping the mega retrospective about his fashions opening to the public on Saturday in Bonn, Germany: The in-demand designer has another party to attend. He will be in Monte Carlo for the annual Bal de la Rose, for which he designed the invitation, the set — and the costume for guest performer Lily Allen. “She gets a very funny outfit,” Lagerfeld said, describing a coat and a dress and flicking through the camera roll on his iPhone to flash a picture of his hand-colored invitation.

“La Rose Art Deco” is the theme Lagerfeld chose for the vent, held at the Salles des Étoiles at Le Sporting Monte-Carlo.
Under the auspices of Prince Albert of Monaco and Princess Caroline of Hanover, the annual event raises money for the Princess Grace Foundation, a charity supporting various pediatric health initiatives.
