Kate Upton has signed with Next Models, WWD has learned exclusively. She will continue to be represented by WME and LBI Entertainment, covering her acting projects.
Upton, 23, broke out in the 2011 Sport’s Illustrated swimsuit issue, and became a viral session, particularly among the male preteen and teen set. She landed the coveted SI cover the following year. She has since appeared on the cover of American Vogue, British Vogue, Vanity Fair, CR Fashion Book, Harper’s Bazaar and more. In March 2014, she was named a brand ambassador for Express; in July of that same year, she became the face of Bobbi Brown cosmetics.
She began a crossover into acting, appearing first in “Tower Heist” in 2011 and “The Three Stooges” in 2012. Larger roles came in 2014’s “The Other Woman,” alongside Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann, and she’s set to appear in “The Layover,” which is directed by William H. Macy.
Upton was one of the first models to gain a career boost through popularity on the Internet; a 2011 YouTube video of her dancing in the stands of a Los Angeles Clippers game garnered millions of views.
Upton revealed her engagement to Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander on the red carpet at the 2016 Met Gala, debuting her ring in public for the first time.
